CAPE CORAL, Fla. (Aug. 22, 2008) — Grosse Pointe Development Company and BBL Construction celebrated the topping off of The Resort at MarinaVillage in Tarpon Point Marina with a ceremony, announced company president Jim Crumbie.

Topping off is a ceremony held when the last beam is placed on top of a building under construction. BBL commemorated the event with a luncheon for construction workers and the ceremonious placement of a tree on top of the 19-story building signifying that construction has successfully made it to this point without any major accidents or injuries.  

BBL Construction is already working on the interior walls and wiring on the lower floors of the building that will house Cape Coral’s first Residence Club resort featuring fully-furnished, two- and three-bedroom residences ranging in size from 1,235 to 2,195 square feet, featuring master suites, grand rooms and guest suites and private dining terraces.

The $150 million MarinaVillage will be a commercial, residential and retail center within Tarpon Point Marina that will be open to the public. Pavilions situated along a waterfront promenade will offer boutiques and retail outlets, a day spa and fitness center. Restaurant plans include two casual restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining. Both will feature marina views, a full bar and award-winning cuisine. The resort portion of the project is scheduled to open in November 2009.

Fractional ownerships of The Resort at MarinaVillage Residence Club are available starting at $74,000 for a 1/12 share.

Owners of the residences at MarinaVillage will enjoy all the amenities of Tarpon Point Marina, plus concierge and spa services, room service, housekeeping and access to a resort-style pool, spa and deck. The Resort at MarinaVillage will be managed by Fort Myers-based SunStream Hotels & Resorts.
